What I is….

Hello all.

I recently found a remarkable documentary from the BBC ( which I have added here via “The secret You” link at the bottom ), in which the question of what or where the “I” is, was approached.

Many of you here would have done this topic to death and I am aware that it is not economically related, but I was inspired to post the link here for you to ponder or discuss.

In the past, I have regularly avoided the ‘I’ subject, mainly due to an opinion that it doesn’t matter one way or the other – I have the perception of myself with an ability to choose, and that was always good enough for me.

Watching this documentary however, was quite an interesting experience. Some of the experiments really do make you think about consciousness and free will.

For those that are new to the subject, it is easy watching.

For those more rehearsed in the field, you may or may not have bits to add or disprove..??

The secret You

Enjoy,

Sned.

Oh dear, what have they done..??

Good evening all…!!

I will add this post, as a reminder of what desperate people can do…

If we imagine the implications of this move, where people’s savings may actually be targeted for a means of financing a `bailout` of the economy of Cyprus, things all of a sudden look a lot worse…

Quite honestly, I don’t know what else to add..??

Of late, I have taken time to spend more energy enjoying what life has to offer, and dare I say, I have become more complacent..??

Perhaps it could be described as `Doom fatigue`..?? I have had a nagging feeling that things are just grinding along, and not much is changing at present..??

Perhaps this was motivated in part by our good Mystic’s break from economics..??

Whatever it is, when this caught my eye, I had a bit of a bump back down to Earth, as we say in England…

I can only hope the insanity doesn’t spread to the UK or the rest of the Eurozone, I am actually considering my options now, if this were to appear likely…!!

Collapso

In the old days the parasite that is `collapso` could be taken along for the ride; but now, with less action on OTP, I believe that he is too much to carry anymore.

This comment, from yesterday, is an example of the slime this creature leaves -

The definition of money is of much less importance than the definition of debt. The debt can be directly converted to wealth (economic production) . That is the real problem. There is a very real quantity of production over time that is described by the debt.
If the money was important, there would not be so many people willing to gin it up from thin air and in-debit others with it. The debt is what is desired, that is the political description of the future wealth transfers, an that only takes one multiplication to understand.

Unless there is a solid body of support for him in comments … I will block him.

What d’ya say~!??

Stagnant deposits

Quote from Martin Wolfe’s article in this morning’s FT -
… As Claudio Borio of the Bank for International Settlements puts it in a recent paper `The financial cycle and macroeconomics: what have we learnt?` …

“deposits are not endowments that precede loan formation; it is loans that create deposits”.

Thus, when banks cease to lend, deposits stagnate.

Mystic notes that -
More and more people are starting to understand that `our money` comes from only one source … and that, that source, is bank lending.
As the economic malaise drags on, more and more people will question the wisdom of this situation.

Training for Politics #1 – Start With The Young At Heart

Preston Manning was the first politician I voted for to change Canada from oligarch Liberal rule to rebel Reform Party and then to Alliance Party (under Harper) and ultimately to the New Conservative Party.

People have been tricked before by politicians.  However he appears to be a leader who gave up the personal power trip but continues to work behind the scenes for us all.

If you listen to him you realize he wants politicians who are trained to support our common good.  This has nothing to do with blindly electing officials who have no understanding of the common good !!

In our country and everywhere in the world there are politicians who sell themselves out !  Preston fights that sad reality.  The fact that he is still connected to our new conservative party is baggage.  Why ?   Every political leader eventually loves power more than the people.  Preston sees training the young before they are sold out as essential to good government ! That is applicable to all politicians and political parties.

Have I been fooled ? Where is that young at heart Mystic hiding?
