My First Amendment Rant

The US Supreme Court’s interpretation of the First Amendment has bothered me for a long time. Actually, it’s just part of the general trend of power going from the states to the federal gov’t.

I’m not complaining about a menorah, as opposed to a manger scene, being on public grounds. That’s just an attention-getter. No offense to any Jewish people.

My point is the First Amendment did not used to, and IMO should not now, apply to the states. States have constitutions, with First Amendment provisions. These questions should be decided by the state supreme courts.

I wondered how TheModernMystic seems to know so much about economics. Was he a funds manager or something in his previous life? So, I googled “who is . . . .” There’s no Wikipedia article (that would be nice). But I found this. I think it’s pretty entertaining and clever.
