Mainstream economics is a cult.

I think this article is about the stories we tell ourselves. My Uncle once told me the brain is wired to find patterns, a story is one such pattern. So we put things in boxes (or stories) and call them ‘the truth of the situation’.
These boxes can give rise to value systems, economics, religion etc. They are based on axioms which may or may not be ‘true’.
Dmitri Orlov said in a recent broadcast that one way to pick ones way through the moras of data (on the economic question) was to develop ones own value system thereby being able to screen in or out relevant data.
Humans do have one ability though which provides flexibility in an ever changing world, the capacity to jump from one box to another.

    Hello Emma,
    To make a `link` kinda…..well, `linky`; what you need to do is this -

    When you have done your post  and want to put the link in ….
    Type something that makes it obvious that it is the link (“link to article” or something) ……
    Then highlight it ……
    Go to the buttons on top and press the one called `link` ……
    A box poppeth up …..
    Copy and paste the URL (www.thingy) into the URL line ……
    Tick the box `open in new tab`
    and click OK dokey.

    Now, in the post your “link to article” is `live` ….. as in, when posted up it turns the cursor into a finger and will link to the appropriate website (by opening a new tab).
    ………..It sounds complicated, but is a doddle when you have done it a couple of times……..

    While I am on to this sort of thing.
    When doing a post, you can do that `reference collapse` (I call it).   You know, when you are using something from another site and it is indented smaller into the middle of the post.

    And then it pops out again, when you are speaking.

    This is done by using `b-quote` if you use the `HTML` tab …………… or `the two quotes sign 66` if you you use `Visual`.
    You hit whichever one you can see, once at the start of the quote ……. and then again at the end of the quote …..and it will do the `skinny thing` for you.
