    Its Spooky how the Monty Python stuff still resonates.

    I think it comes from the History of Fools. For Jesters  did for filled a real purpose. To perform at court, and to the  Elites. He was deemed a Fool, & Mad. So he could lambaste the Elite without punishment for he was a fool that needed pity ( A political tool).

     Queen Elizabeth (reigned 1558-1603) is said to have rebuked one of her fools for being insufficiently severe with her. Excessive behaviour, however, could lead to a fool being whipped, :(One may conceptualize fools in two camps: those of the natural fool type and those of the licensed fool type. Whereas the natural fool was seen as innately nit-witted, moronic, or mad,the licensed fool was given leeway by permission of the court. In other words, both were excused, to some extent, for their behavior, the first because he “couldn’t help it,” and the second by decree.Distinction was made between fools and clowns, or country bumpkins. The fool’s status was one of privilege within a royal or noble household.His folly could be regarded as the raving of a madman but was often deemed to be divinely inspired. The ‘natural’ fool was touched by God.James VI of Scotland was originally very lazy about reading things before signing them.His jester, George Buchanan (1506–82) tricked him into abdicating in favour of George for 15 days.            Hello Matt,
          I don’t think it is the `wrongness` of it (it isn’t for me anyway).
          It is that some people, if interested, would maybe want to follow up what they have read (and a link makes it easy for them).

    Me wonders…now…what turns or can turn ‘Economies’ around? Big question! duhh… :)

    Gets real complicated in my little brain quickly. First thinks… cheap labor ( China model ).  But if no one is interested in your cheap stuff for whatever reason, not much help and of course cheap laboor is competing with cheap labor world over. How low can you go.  Cheap energy – well that’s a dead end now… so…?

    The trillion dollar question so many are trying to answer. I quickly come to the conclusion that the ‘the worlds problems’ have become so complex that most everything is out of anyone’s control. Nothing new there aye. And obviously that’s what is being explored and supported here.

    So hey all you Europeans, is your economy going to ‘turn around’. ??? And what might bring it? The world is watching and waiting ya know.  :) Forward all responses to Merkel. I’m sure she’d be interested.  :)

       You know most of what I think.
      They are just not `competitive` ….. What to do~?
      Get competitive ………. not a chance~!
      Try and buy your way out~!?

      It is either that, or try and kill the competitors.

        That last seems to be the bottom line and the most likely in some form. I sometimes wonder if a war, different than past conventional perceptions of war, has not already begun.

        Another different topic view: I suspicion a generation has been in process of “entertaining itself to death” pushed by cable TV, internet, and cell phones – now “smart phones ”. Unfortunately too many are trapped in mindless entertainment and narciscism and too few using them to become more ‘smart’.
        In a “Moores Law” type of prediction, how many more whiz bangs can be added to IPads and Smart Phones before the industry hits a production ceiling? I’m personally surrounded by people absolutely addicted to their cell phones and Ipads – Texting, Facebook and YouTube. Self-absorbed zomby-ism setting in daily.

        My internal crystal ball keeps telling me that some kind of serious shit hits the proverbial fan within the next 3 years. Then the other crystal ball says the damn thing is too big to fail. Just big chunks go to shit from time to time. Too many crystal balls I suppose. :)

           I am just waiting on the Egypt election result.  Come down to the square, says the army, and we will tell you who the winner is (good for a television show ……. shite for real life).
          Turkey have smacked Kurds, after being poked by the Syrians.

          Will the Greeks push the Germans into a row with France, Italy and Spain~?

          Is Kirchner in Argentina just a slightly bit mad~?
          Will Brazil keep inflation under control~?

          Will Tiger Woods ………….. ?
