Hello everyone~!

A quick post to say that I will be in hospital for longer than first thought.
(It seems that I am not ideal for `stents` or for `bi-pass` and they are deciding what will be best.)

I note from a comment yesterday by `Windy`, that he is having trouble getting to the `dashboard` (back office), so cannot make a posting.
In principal (or is it principle~?), nothing has changed….and everyone that could post, should still be able to.
Please comment if you can or cannot….and I will try and make things right again.

    Good on you Nick!

  • Paul

Glad you’re still kicking~!  Hang tough!  If not stents or by-pass, then drug therapy or heart transplant?

Been reading up more on LaRouche concepts and history; many questions for the Mystic.  When you’re back to good health, we can explore further.
    Hamilton, Jefferson, Adams and Washington:

It still appears to be a choice between stents or by-pass.  Actual heart is good.

That looks like a take from that very good series on Adams.
Ask away, I am having a waiting day.
(Although I suspect your research is now ahead of anything I may know~!?)

      • Paul

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the stents approach.

It was a scene from the Adams series.  My LaRouche research lead me to study the American/Hamiltonian credit system.  This is a good place to start the questions.  This is more of a history lesson on economics and finance, as applied to national and international systems.  I think it is very relevant to our current crisis, especially within the EU and loss of sovereignty of the member nations.  Also, I don’t think we can develop a new, meta system without understanding the past systems and how they have failed us.  I am asking for your clarification so that we are taking from the same point of view in future dialogs; to avoid confusion.  The jargon is tricky.

        1.  Did the Anglo-Dutch financial system come into being after the Glorious Revolution of 1688?
1a.  Were the Dutch/Amsterdam and British/London bankers and burgomasters practicing different financing methods before this invasion and the ascension of the House of Orange in England?
        2.  Can you explain what LaRouche terms the Anglo-Dutch Liberal monetary system?
        3.  Can you explain the post US Revolutionary War, American-Hamiltonian credit system?
        4.  How were the two systems different and why was Hamilton rejecting the Old World system?
        5.  LaRouche states that America was the only successful nation to fight and succeed against the Anglo-Dutch monetary system.  If so, how was this achieved and why only by America?

I’ll stop here, since that is more than enough to establish the fundamentals.

I came across this unsavory character during my readings.  He provided 2 million of the 7 million guilder loan that financed the Dutch mercenary navy and army invasion force against England.

        • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

This is tricky.  I don’t know how to start. … I will go with the stuff in my head and try and make it relevant.
Charles the second comes to mind.  Moving back in time I get the Italian banking houses that used to do most of the lending.  The picture I have is the Italians being defaulted on and the later kings having to borrow from elsewhere….Humans being great copiers, I guess that rich merchants had set themselves up with operations that mimicked the Italian set-up.  (religion and usury laws always hanging in the background).
Now I have a Google search theme `history of banking around reign of Charles II`.
Yes, I imagine in was the Dutch who first took over (they had the money at the time) …. and then the home grown Brits.  I think we have the bank of England set up around then, so we would have the basis for what we have now.
We will bump into the game that I talked of a couple of months ago – the credit system for the king … and a different system for the smaller merchants.

OK it is coming back now ….. The big kicker is when the King lets his IOU’s be used to pay taxes.
We then had a system (I will use the word money and we can sort out the details later) whereby …. the rich merchants lent the king money and then used the king’s IOU’s as money between themselves.
From this was going to come banking for the less rich merchants.  Where the rich merchants would write out IOU’s to poorer merchants for them to use as money.
(here I remember that any thoughts of fractional reserve banking only leads to confusion)

The difference here is that the poorer merchants would sign a contract to repay the IOU’s of the rich bankers.

Not knowing if you want to dig into the King system or the banking system, I will stop there (and wait for them to bring me a cup of tea).
[thanks for the thought of you heart friend]

        • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

I think maybe, by the time America was invented, the two systems had melded into one ….. So that America (king) would have to borrow from the bankers (merchants).
Pushing on with a lot of license to make it up as I go along …… We would have the State borrowing from the banks, where in the good ole’ days, the State (king) would issue his own IOU’s.
The trickiness of thinking comes in accepting that the merchants did not want so much to be paid back, but to have the State’s IOUs to trade with.
I am guessing that the merchants knew the power of money in trade and wanted plenty of people to deal in these State bits of paper.
So come America time, you had a battle about whose bits of paper everyone was going to trade with – the State bits of paper or the bank bits of paper.
I imagine Hamilton wanted everyone to use the State bits of paper …… and the bankers (mainly from the Old World), wanted everyone to use their bits of paper.

The `paying back` thing is not really an issue.  It is just the living you can make out of being the supplier of monopoly money.

I have a good friend who is a cardio-thoracic surgeon here in the US.  Let me know if you have any questions, I will forward them accordingly.  I’m treating you like family, Mystic!  I’ll tell him as such.

  • CSArichardo

Nick I posted … so no problems with the site from my perspective.   Hopfully option 3 works for you !  Make the best of your extended stay …  if you can !

    • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

Ah good….yes….well I am glad it is an individual problem then.
      Thanks.

(Here’s a hard problem for you – Why aren’t people making more pots…..after all, there is a shed-load of shit to talk about~?)

      • CSArichardo

We all have alot of shit happening in our lives !!  Posts actually take time (work ?) and if time is in short supply we go to OTP for entertainment, as opposed to work !

        • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

          Hmmm …. yes …… I think I understand…`work`  ……  `entertainment` …… `different` …

          • Paul

OTP as “entertainment”~?  Sure, and root canals are “stimulating”~!
OTP is enlightenment; difficult, but rewarding~!

      • NascentMind

I didn’t want to post as you spruced up the site, So I removed all my old posts , I thought you were
doing the male version of the nesting instinct IE: When women get ready to give birth the have a
desire to nest build. ( Decorating and such ) . When men get a feeling they are proper ill they have
a desire to put affairs in order.

        • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

          Bugger that~!
Get smearing and smudging and all round curmudgeoning~!!

        • Paul

Mystic is tough; mentally and physically.  Even if he needs the by-pass surgery, his survival rate, based on age and lifestyle, is close to 98%~!  Let’s not bury the Mystic before he is dead.
“Don’t die, before you are dead”~!  Who said that?  Words of Wisdom~!

  • Anonymoussson

    Get well soon, Nick!

The `Anonymousson` speaks …. and `Mystic` thanks ye.

  • Windcutter

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about the pump issue. Hope that you’ll be back on the farm asap.

I’ve lost my dashboard (which used to be up on the top) and also the login prompt (right hand side),  and am limited to replying to other posts.

    No urgency.

    • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

OK Try up in the top left …. Hover over the `OverThePeak.com` button and see if you get a drop-down with the dashboard on it~?

      Hellooo

      • windman3

I hovered and no drop down, used to have one a short while ago.

I’ve tried using both Chrome and Internet Explorer.

        • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

          Have you tried `going direct` – http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php

          • windman3

Aah, that worked. But there is no obvious way to get there from the homepage.

After I logged in my dashboard appeared across the top again.

However, my moniker has changed to windman3, which does not appear on my dashboard profile anywhere.

Oh well, a step in the right direction.

            • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

I have put in a box (2nd down on the right) for signing in and out.
When you are signed in, you should have another bar at the top of the page – It is via the OTP on that bar you should have a drop down to dashboard.
Sign in as whoever you want to be on the day.

              • windman3

                Hi,
OK, I logged out and found the login field. That works.

Not being, at least as far as I can tell, afflicted with multiple personality disorder, I only want one login associated with my email address, and only one display name.

The one that currently appears, windman3, is a bit strange, as it is not in the profile that I exist in at this moment.

Otherwise I think all is OK.

                • http://overthepeak.com/wordpress/ Mystic

windman3 will be your (display) `name` not `username`.
If you give me details of the name for this account, I can scrub it and you could start again (If E want)~?
I can’t find windman3 because I can only `search` usernames (there are a couple of thousand of ‘em)

  • Garryentropy

    Good luck Nick

Perhaps your heart problem is timely, as at least there is a functioning health service to make you better, before it all goes away. Get well soon xxx

    Hi Nick,

Nice to hear your actual heart is in good condition.

I like the text below on OTP…
